Technical Notes:

Developed in 2005, this site uses CSS for all visual styling and layout. This approach enhances accessibility and facilitates use in older browsers. The server side of the site is scripted in PHP with a MySQL database.

Grant designed this site for a group of long-time friends who play an ongoing fantasy-based role-playing game in a fictional world called Caledar. Database backed, the site organizes story synopses and Acrobat documents, while the visual style evokes the sword-and-sorcery feel of the game.

Technical Notes:

An open-source package called DaDaBik was installed and customized to provide the administration interface.

The VCR-like controls shown here allow easy reading of the story chapters. Behind the scenes, an administration interface allows the gamemaster to update all of the site's data without any knowledge of web programming.

Technical Notes:

This page uses CSS for typography but tables for layout. PHP is used for templating and access to the MySQL database.

Grant designed this site for the Root family to share photos and post home pages.
